Some History Behind Cavilator

The Middletown Robotics Team was begun in 2003.  Mr. Rob Kelly came to Middletown High School from Seaford, DE where he had been involved in the FIRST Robotics Program.  There, he headed up a team that competed at past regionals.  He wanted to share the dream of FIRST at Middletown.  Almost single-handedly he created a team, got district funding, made the contacts for equipment and inspired students to join the team.  That’s how Team Cavilator 1370 began...

We expected to compete...

The team spent many nights and weekend hours pulling the pieces together...a skeleton group of students and two advisors overcame funding hurdles, lost parts, machined items didn’t meet specs, schedule delays and the fact that we were novices slowed us down.  We shipped the Cavilator 1370 on the last day
